How To: Chat With Copilot

Hang Copilot is an AI assistant trained to understand your restaurant data, visualize trends, and help you take action. Chat with copilot to ask about your performance, customers, and brainstorm growth opportunities.

Copilot will analyze your data and generate visualizations you can add to custom dashboards.

Your new best friend

When you sign into copilot, you’ll be greeted with a chat box, similar to many other chat-based AI tools. Here you can ask a variety of different questions about your restaurant data (orders, customers, menu items, etc…) and collaborate to conduct market research, brainstorm campaign ideas, and much much more.

Asking Meaningful Data Questions

One of the most powerful features of copilot is its ability to turn simple, conversational questions into complex data queries – no SQL or spreadsheet work required.

By structuring your question clearly, copilot can instantly understand what you're looking for, apply the right filters and calculations, and return insights with helpful visualizations.

Most strong questions follow a common structure with 2-4 key components:

Metric

What do you want to measure?

Examples: sales, transactions, average check, new customers, churn rate

Timeframe

Over what period?

Examples: this week, last 30 days, March, year-to-date, week over week

Location

Where are you looking?

Examples: entire brand, a single location, a region or group of stores

Item or Category

Are you focused on a specific menu item or type of product?

Examples: chicken wraps, desserts, catering, beverages

Prompt Examples

Understand order trends

Ask about item performance, time-based sales shifts, or category comparisons.

  • How are my week over week sales over the last 2 weeks?

  • How are my chicken wraps selling?

  • How are my lunch vs dinner orders?

Get to know your customers

Ask about customer acquisition, churn, and behaviors that lead to loyalty.

  • How many new customers did I have this week?

  • How many churned users do I have?

  • What items are driving repeat visits?
